We're looking for up to four on this one." Council Member Roop asked, <br />"With all of the notices, you received no opposition?" Mr. Knox replied, "Correct. Mr. <br />Clark was not opposed to it, just concerned of the hole." Council Member Roop asked, <br />"1 assume that all this has no negative effect on the neighborhood?" Mr. Knox replied, <br />"Correct. It will have no effects on computers, radios, or physical body." City Attorney <br />David B. Worthy stated, 'q'he applicant also requested a 200' variance." Mr. Knox <br />stated, "Policy reads that any monopole must be at least 300' away from any residential <br />area. This pole will actually be 100' from a residential zone." Mr. Worthy asked, "Did <br />they get a vadance from the Board of Zoning Appeals?" Mr. Knox replied, "No, the <br />special permit allows it." Council Member Roop asked, "Is this pole collapsible?" Mr. <br />Knox replied, '~(es." Coundl Member Roop asked, ''with the variance, would it hinder <br />future housing projects?" Mr. Knox replied, "It would limit the size of any development." <br />Mr. Worthy stated, "1 have a problem with the variance. I don't think that this body has <br />the dght to grant it." Mayor Crabtree requested that Mr. Worthy and Mr. Knox research <br />this matter immediately. Mayor Crabtree declared the Public Headng open. Ward <br />Armstrong, representing American Tower Corporation, stated, "I'm also representing <br />Triton PCS, which is partially owned by AT&T. !t will provide digital cellular service for <br />SunCom. American Tower Corporation has been hired to install it. They are one of the <br />largest tower companies, but they will not own it; Crown Communications will own it. <br />The federal government allows up to six cellular services to locate in an area; SunCom <br />will be the fourth in this area. Tdton is not the only customer that Crown is hoping for. <br /> <br /> <br />
