TUESDAY, MAY 25, 1999 <br /> A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor <br /> <br />Mark A. Crabtree presiding, was held Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br />beginning at 7:00 P.M. The following members of Council were present: Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor, M. <br />Gene Teague, Vice Mayor, and Council Members Bruce H.T. Dallas, Elizabeth H. Haskell and Terry L. <br /> <br />Roop. <br /> <br /> Following delivery of the Invocation by Council Member Dallas the Mayor extended a cordial <br />welcome to all in attendance. <br /> <br />Council first considered Business from the Floor. There was none. <br /> <br /> Council next considered a Staff Report from Mr. Wade Bartlett, Finance Director, who provided a <br />financial report for the month ending April 30, 1999. Mr. Bartlett noted that revenues in all funds were <br />exceeding expectations with the exception of the Water Fund. He also stated that School Fund revenues <br />were down due to lower enrollment figures. Council Member Haskell asked if the decline in the Capital <br />Reserve or other funds might affect the City' s standing in the bond market at this time, and was told that it <br />would not. Mr. Bartlett also informed her that there was no change or negative impact on the City' s <br />overall financial or cash position. <br /> <br />Council next considered their Consent Agenda, consisting of the following item: <br /> <br /> A. Acceptance and appropriation of $245.51 received from the Virginia Department of <br /> Criminal Justice Services into Revenue Account 01-0005000-2404000--- Police/State <br /> Confiscated Assets, for Expenditure Account 01-3 10 100-5415007 --- State Asset <br /> Forfeitures in the Police Department's budget in the General Fund for FY 98-99. <br /> <br /> Council approved the Consent Agenda by the following vote, all members voting: <br /> <br /> <br />
