TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 1999 <br /> <br />David Worthy stated that there would be no liability as long as all the problems with the vehicle were fully <br /> <br />disclosed. Council Member Roop stated that these facts should all be put into writing prior to the donation, <br />then stated that he had been contacted on this matter and that this was a good action to take. Council then <br />approved the recommended donation of the vehicle by the following vote, all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br /> Council next considered nominations to the Virginia Municipal League's 1999 Policy Committees. <br />Council Member Haskell noted that all Chairs of committees would serve on the legislative policy <br />committee. The following committee assignments were then agreed upon by unanimous consensus of <br />Council: <br /> <br />Finance Committee - Council Member Haskell; General Law Committee - Mayor Crabtree; Human <br />Development Committee - Council Member Dallas; Transportation Committee - Council Member Roop; <br />Transportation Committee - Leon Towarnicki, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Council next considered adoption of the National League of Cities Five-Point Action Agenda. The <br />items on this agenda included Making Electronic Commerce Fair, Preserving Municipal Authority, Building <br />a New Economy, Investing Ln Transportation, and Protecting Municipal Authority in any Federal Electric <br />Deregulation Legislation. Following brief discussion Council voted to endorse the NLC Five-Point Action <br />Agenda by the following vote, all members voting: <br /> <br /> Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br /> <br />
