TUESDAY, APRH, 13, 1999 <br />Betty Cardwell, Mr. Ralph Hunt, Mr. Gene Cardwell, and Mrs. Thelma Pinkard. There were no speakers <br /> <br />in opposition to the grant application. Mayor Crabtree then thanked the Southside residents for their <br />attendance and participation, and dosed the Public Hearing. Council then voted to adopt the following <br />Resolution and authorize the City Manager to file the necessary documents for the grant application, by <br />the following vote, all members present voting: <br /> <br />Vote: 4-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (4) Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Teague then asked whether the curb, gutter, and paving work planned for in the grant would <br />be done if the grant was not approved, and if there were funds in the proposed budget for FY 99-00 to <br />accomplish this work. Mr. Reynolds stated that funds were in the budget for this work, and that all of the: <br />proposed curb, gutter street paving and water and sewer improvements would begin in early spring, 2000, <br />whether or not grant funds were approved. Ms. Hylton asked if curb and gutter work was planned in the <br />coming year' s budget in neighborhoods other than the grant areas, and was told that it was. Mr. Reynolds <br />then listed some of the areas where such work was planned. Some additional discussion then took place <br />concerning the anticipated competitiveness of the grant application, and Mr. Poore promised to keep the <br />City staff and Council informed of the progress of the application. <br /> <br /> Council next considered adoption of a Resolution expressing the City' s intent to affirmatively <br />further equal housing opportunities for its citizens in compliance with grant funding for the Southside <br />Rehabilitation Project. Council adopted the following Resolution by the following vote, all members <br />present voting: <br />Vote: 4-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (4) Crabtree, Dallas, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br /> <br />
