95 <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 11, 1999 <br />· contracts could be addressed with the funding approved as recommended- He noted that May 15 was the <br /> legal deadline for confirmation of funding for instructional personnel, but that discussion of capital <br /> concerns could be addressed at a later date. Council Member Roop asked if the 2.95% pay increase <br /> provided included teachers, and was told that it would- Mayor Crabtree stated that he felt approval of the <br /> budget as recommended would be in order. Council Member Haskell stated that she would like to have <br /> public input on school capital and technologY issues at the public hearing on the budget, before approval <br /> of those items. Council then adopted the School System' s budget as recommended by the City Manager, <br /> <br />by the following vote, all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> Council next considered setting a public heating for the purpose of receiving/interviewing citizens <br />interested in serving on the Martinsville the School Board. Mr. Reynolds noted that there were two posts <br />to be filled, and that both the incumbents were eligible for reappointment- Following some discussion <br />concerning personal calendars, Council voted to set the Public hearing for this purpose for June 8, 1999, <br /> <br />by the following vote, all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br />Council next considered adoption of the following Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />A. Accept and appropriate $284.58 of State Forfeited Asset Funds into Revenue 01'000500- <br /> 2404000--Police/State Confiscated Assets and appropriate to Expenditure 01-310100- <br /> 5415007--State Asset Forfeitures in the Police Department's budget for FY1998-99 General <br /> Fund. <br /> B. Set a public heating on the FY1999-2000 Budget for May 25, 1999. <br /> <br /> <br />
