Industrial Development Authority. Council Member Dallas moved to approve a Public <br />Hearing for August 10, 1999; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br />vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, <br />Teague; Nays- 0 None. <br /> <br /> Council considered authorizing the City Manager to respond in.the affirmative to <br />the Virginia Department of Transportation's offer to extend the City's Industrial Access <br />Road Agreement for Clearview Business Park to June 20, 2001. Council' Member Roop <br />moved to authorize the City Manager to do so; the motion was 'duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, <br />Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays - 0 None. <br /> <br /> The following Staff Reports were presented: <br /> <br /> Tom Harned, Community Development - Summarized a recent meeting in <br /> Washington, D. C. <br /> Eugene Richardson, Electrical Department- Summarized effects of <br /> recent storms and the City's electricity supply. <br /> Wade Bartlett, Einance Department - Stated that B B & T will no longer <br /> accept drafts for utility bills. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Executive Session.. In accordance with <br /> Section 2.1-344 (A)of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended)and upon motion <br /> by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, .Council <br /> convened in Executive Session, for the purpose of discussing the following .matter: <br /> <br /> A. AppointmentJReappointments to the Martinsville-Henry County <br /> Clean Community Board, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified <br />· that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br /> <br /> discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those 'business matters identified in <br /> <br /> <br />
