Gene Teague <br /> <br />Consider adoption of minutes of City Council's meeting of July 27, 1999. <br />(See Enclosure #1 ) <br /> <br />Business from the floor. <br /> <br />Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption of a Resolution approving the <br />disposition of real property (Parcel 1 in the Clearview Business Park) to and par- <br />ticipation in the Virginia Shell Building Initiative by the Martinsville Industrial <br />Development Authority. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: The City is in the process of ~nalizing negotiations with the <br />Virginia Economic Development Parmership and the Virginia Retirement System <br />for the financing. and construction of a 50,000 square foot shell building in the <br />Clearview Business Park. The building will be owned by the IDA, therefore, the <br />title to the land must be transferred to the IDA. This will enable the IDA to enter <br />into a financing arrangement with the Virginia Retirement System. We recom- <br />mend that Council adopt the Resolution as prepared. <br /> <br />IV. CONSENT AGENDA: <br /> <br />Accept and appropriate $100 received from Martinsville BPO Elks Lodge <br />No. 1752 as a donation for the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commis- <br />sion's Bike Rodeo into Revenue Account' 01100908--Donations/Bike Rodeo <br />for Expenditure Account 01311085-503170 in the General. Fund. <br /> <br />B. Set a public heating for August' 24, 1999, on a request by Annie Belle King to <br /> rezone 907 Morgan Street from R-9 Residential to C-1 Commercial. <br /> <br />C. Set a public hearing for August 24, 1999, on a request by James L.V. Radford <br /> to rezone 701 Liberty Street from C-1 Corrunercial to C-3 Commercial. <br /> <br />Set a public hearing for August 24, 1999, on a request by James A. and <br />Christina S. Mallard to rezone 411 East Church Street from R-9 Residential <br />to P-2 Professional. <br /> <br /> <br />
