L~ LI <br /> <br /> DRAFT <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THR VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO <br />PROCEED WITH RIGHT-OF-WAY AQCUISITION FOR THE ROUTE 174 / LIBERTY <br />STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT. <br /> <br />WItEREAS, a Public Hearing was conducted on May 4, 1999 in the City of Martinsville by <br />representatives of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Depamnent of Transportation after due and <br />proper notice for the purpose of considering the proposed location and design of the Ronte 174 / <br />Liberty Street Improvements Project 0174-120-102, PE-101, RW-201, C-501, D-601, D-602 in the <br />City of Martinsville, at which hearing drawings, photographs, and other pertinent information were <br />made available for public inspection in accordance with State and Federal requirements; and <br /> <br />WItEREAS, all persons and parties in attendance were afforded full opportunity to participate in <br />said public hearing; and <br /> <br />WItEREAS, representatives from the City of Martinsville were present and participated in said <br />hearing; and <br /> <br />'WFIEREAS, the Council had previously requested the Virginia DeparUnent of Transportation to <br />program this project; and <br /> <br />WltEREAS, the Council considered all such matters; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, that it does hereby <br />approve the location and major design features of the proposed project as presented at the Public <br />Hearing; and <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Council does hereby request the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation to acquire all rights-of-way necessary for this project, conveying this right-of-way to <br />the City of Martinsville at the appropriate time and proceed to construction implementing criteria to <br />address as many public comments as possible. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />Clerk of Council Date Adopted <br /> <br /> <br />
