Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1999 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THANKS TO <br />PULASKI FURNITURE CORPORATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pulaski Furniture Corporation is a major industry and employer in the <br />Martinsville-Henry County areai offering employment, capital investment and other <br />contributions to the improvement of economic conditions in our area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pulaski Furniture Corporation has recently provided significant improvement <br />to the City's curb appeal by the demolition of a dilapidated water tank on Aaron Street, <br />thereby enhancing community safety and neighborhood revitalization; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this demolition constitutes community improvement by Pulaski Furniture <br />Corporation which will help to bring more commerce, more jobs, and a better standard of <br />living to our area; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Councfi of the City of Martinsvfile, Virginia, in regular session <br />assembled.February 9, 1999, that it does hereby express its sincere appreciation for and <br />recognition of the Pulaski Furniture Corporation for its contribution in supporting <br />economic growth in the City of Martinsvfile and Henry County. <br /> <br />Mr. Via thanked Council on behalf of Pulaski Furniture Corporation, and stated Pulaski's intention to not <br />only remain in the Martinsville community, but expand operations as well. All members of Council and <br />the audience present gave their applause. <br /> <br /> Council next considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 99-1 amending Section <br />H--Definitions and Section XI--District Regulations-Professional District, Paragraph J--Permitted Uses- <br />RP-1 Residential~Professional District, Sub-paragraph 4--Life Care Facility, of the City' sZoning <br /> <br /> <br />
