AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />ABANDONING STREET SPACE <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled, that in order to assure compliance with Virginia <br />Code Section 15.1-491 (g), it is stated that the public purpose for which this <br />Ordinance is initiated is to fulfill the requirements of public necessity, <br />convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice, that a portion of the <br />street, as described below, be-- and is hereby -- declared -- vacated and <br />abandoned in favor of the City of Martinsville, subject to the filing of an <br />appropriate map with--and the approval by-- the City's Planning, Zoning <br />and Housing Manager, showing the areas hereby declared vacated and <br />abandoned, which map, when and as approved, shall be duly recorded in the <br />Office of the Clerk of Martinsville City Circuit Court: <br /> <br /> A 30-foot wide and approximately 241.3-foot long portion of N. <br />Barton Street, lying between W. Church Street and Fayette Street, as shown <br />on the City Tax Map 32. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force immediately upon adoption. <br /> <br />Dewey P.
