TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 1989 <br /> <br />Council concurred with Councilman Cole's suggestion that the City Manager, in <br />writing, inform residents of Grandview Road of the status of their petition for <br />curb-and-gutter"Ifor'Grandview Road, in response to recent inquiries received <br />from Councilman Cole regarding said petition. <br /> <br />In accordance with requirements set forth in subsection A-1 of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and, upon, motion, duly <br />seconded, and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an <br />Executive Session to consider (1) nominees for appointment or reappointment to <br />membership on the New River Regional Police Academy Board, (2) nominees for <br />appointment to membership on the City's Planning Commission to succeed Mr. <br />Joseph W. Pritchett, resigned, and (3) a personnel matter. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of Said Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular <br />session and unanimously reappointed Mayor Oakes to membership on the New River <br />Regional Police Academy Board for a new one-year term beginning April 1, 1989, <br />and expiring March 31, 1990. Council continued to its next meeting further <br />consideration regarding the Planning Commission vacancy; and Council took no <br />action on the personnel matter discussed. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.
