Willjams. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor McClain's cordial welcome <br />t6 visitors, Mayor'McClain formally presented the.former Mayor's <br /> <br /> gavel to L.D. Oakes. Mayor McClain expressed his appreciation to <br />'~'~ Mayo~'~Oak~s for his service to the Cit~.' ..... <br /> <br /> , -Councii~approved the minutesI of the regular meeting 'of ~uly 10, <br /> <br /> ~1990 as'~mended. ' · <br /> <br />'Counci~.'conducted a public hearing on a request by=zl~nry C~ Wall <br /> on behalf of Eunice B. Wall, to abandon' an unimproved,· unnamed <br /> street·space located on the east side· of Liberty Street and <br /> ~xtending ~between Liberty Street andGreyson Street.' There being <br /> <br />nO'public comment on the request, Mayor McClain declared thepublic <br />hearing closed. Upon motion, duly seconded, and·by unanimous vote, <br />council approved the following ordinance: <br /> <br />'BE IT ORDAINED. by the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, in regular sessionsassembled this <br />"~twenty-fourth day of July, 1990, that the unopened <br />/ street,-~S described below,'be'-and is hereby declared- <br />-vacated and abandoned in favor of Eunice B.
