Mr. Lindsey Smith of Patrick Henry Tech <br />Associates(the local Virginia Tech Alumni Association) was present to urge all <br />at the meeting to attend the game. City Manager Brown.reported that the <br />insurance coverage for the event was attached to the City's policy at no <br />additional cost. <br /> <br />Council delayed consideration of an award of a contract to perform financial <br />and compliance audits for the City for fiscal years ended June 30, 1990 through <br />June 30, 1992 so that it could be provided with a detailed list of services <br />provided by the firm in the audit and costs for those services. The City <br />Manager recommended an award of the contract to Ford, Hogg, & Cobbe, of <br />Martinsville in the following contract amounts: <br /> <br />'Year ended June 30~ 1990 $22,000 <br />Year ended June 30, 1991 $25,000 <br />Year ended June 30, 1992 $29,000 <br /> <br />City Manager Brown explained that under State law the procurement of this type <br />of professional services must initially proceed on the basis of qualifications <br />to perform the service requested, with price negotiations being undertaken <br />after the interviews have been conducted. The City received eight (8) propo- <br />sals in response to its RFP and interviewed five (5) of t~ese. After the <br /> <br /> <br />
