TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1992 <br />outstanding shares or received $5,000 or more in income from the stock, <br />all were eligible to vote on this item. Upon motion, duly seconded and <br />by unanimous vote, Council awarded the contract to Patrick Henry <br />National Bank. <br /> <br />Council 'acknowledged a quarterly report by the City Treasurer on the <br />investment of City funds. Councilman Oakes asked that a report be <br />prepared containing a three-year history of the third quarter <br />Treasurer's report in conjunction with the monthly financial report for <br />October. <br /> <br />Council heard a status report on the Gateway Streetscape Project from <br />A. C. Wilson and Leon Towarnicki in which it was noted that work on the <br />project would begin soon in the City. <br /> <br />The following matters which were not on the agenda were discussed: <br /> <br />(1) Councilman Williams commended the Public Works Department for the <br />quarterly large item collection program; (2) Councilman Oakes read <br />parts of a proclamation which was signed by the Mayor proclaiming <br />October as Quality Month in the City; (3) Council set a town meeting <br />for November 10, 1992 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Albert Harris School <br />and tentatively scheduled a town meeting to be held in conjunction with <br />the regularly scheduled Council meeting on December 22, 1992 at <br />Clearview School; and (4) the Mayor announced that all members of <br />Council would be attending the annual Virginia Municipal League <br />convention to be held in Hampton October 18-20. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br /> <br /> <br />
