Enclosure #1-b <br /> <br />MONDAY, MARCH 29, 1999 <br /> A special joint meeting of the City Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, and the City <br /> <br />School Board with Mayor Mark A. Crabtree and School Board Chairman Reverend William A. <br />Shackleford, Sr., presiding, was held Monday, March 29, 1999s in Room. 32, Lower Level Conference <br />Room, City Hall, beginning at 12:00 noon. The following members of Council were present: Dr. Mark <br />A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice-Mayor; and Council Members Bruce H.T. Dallas, Elizabeth <br />H. Haskell and Terry L. Roop. The following members of the School Board were present: Reverend <br />William A. Shackleford, Sr., Chairman; James H. Johnson, Jr., Vice-Chairman; and Board Members <br />Bernie F. Gray, Jr., and Beth R. Sibbick. <br /> <br />49 <br /> <br /> Mayor Crabtree called the Council to order, and Council promptly voted to go into Executive <br />Session. In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) <br />and upon motion, duly seconded, and by the following recorded vote, Council convened in Executive <br />Session for the purpose of discussing the following matter: <br /> <br />A. Possible acquisition of real property for public use, as authorized by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />Council's vote on entering Executive Session was as follows:. <br /> Vote: 3-0 <br /> <br /> Yeas: (3) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell. <br /> Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br /> Abstentions: (2) Roop, Teague. <br /> <br /> Chairman Shackleford next called the School Board to order, followed by their entrance into <br />Executive Session along with City Council. All Members of the School Board present participated in the <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
