MARCH 23, 1999 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />44 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of MartinsviHe, Virginia, is entitled to receive assistance payments for the <br />maintenance of eligible streets under the State Functional Classification System as set forth in Section <br />33.1-41.1 of the Code of Virginia; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Department of Transportation procedures for adding urban <br />streets eligible for maintenance payments under the State Functional Classification System as set forth in <br />Section 33.1-41.1 of the Code, it is necessary that a request by Council Resolution be made in order for <br />the Department to consider said revisions; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session assembled <br />March 23, 1999, that it does hereby request the Virginia Department of Transportation to add as eligible <br />mileage for Collector/Local street maintenance payments, Progress Drive with a net of 0.98 lane miles as <br />shown on the attached U-1 Form, said streets being located in and maintained by the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />A copy oft_he referenced U-1 Form is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Council next considered its Consent Agenda. The following items were approved by the <br />following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None <br /> <br />B4 <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $33,730 received from the U.S. Department of Justice for a Local <br />Law Enforcement Block Grant into Revenue Account 11-000500-3301000 Grant/Federal <br />Block/Mobile Unit to be expended from 11-310100-7001000 Maj or Tools/Equipment in <br />the Federal Block Grant Fund for the mobile precinct for the Police Department. <br /> <br />TransferredS3,748 from Account 01-310100-5415008--Federal Asset Forfeiture in the <br />Police Budget in the General Fund to Account 16-950525-7531010--Police Motor <br />Vehicles/Equipment in the Capital Reserve Fund as the Police Department's 10% match of <br />the $33,730 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for the mobile precinct. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $52,453 received from the State Compensation Board into <br />Revenue Account 01-000500- 2302010 in the General Fund, to be transferred to the Capital <br />Reserve Fund to be expended from 16-950510-7133010--Jail Major Tools/Equipment as the <br />State's share for a Live-Scan Unit for the Jail. <br /> <br /> <br />
