the Virginia Retirement System that it makes for <br />all other City employees. <br /> <br />6. The City of Martinsville shall pay for <br />.. professional dues and subscriptions on behalf of <br /> .the City Manager to the International City <br /> Management Association and the Virginia Local <br /> Government Management Association. <br /> <br /> 7. The City of Martinsville shall pay the <br />travel and subsistence expenses of the City <br />Manager to attend the annual conference of the <br />International City Management Association, the <br />annual meeting of the Virginia Municipal League, <br />and the annual=meeting of the Virginia Local <br />Government Management Association. In addition, <br />the City of Martinsville shall pay for the travel <br />and subsistence expenses of the City Manager to <br />attend short courses, institutes and seminars that <br />are necessary for his professional development and <br />for the good of the City of Martinsville and as <br />are specifically approved beforehand by said <br />Council. <br /> <br /> 8. A. The City of Martinsville shall pay <br />the full cost of any fidelity or other bond <br />required of the City Manager by said Council or <br />under any law or ordinance. <br /> <br /> B. The City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />shall defend, save harmless and indemnify the City <br />Manager, by liability insurance paid for by said <br />City or otherwise, against any tort, professional <br />liability, claim or demand or other legal action, <br />whether groundless or otherwise, arising out of an <br />alleged act or omission during the performance of <br />the City Manager's duties. Said City or its <br />insurer will compromise and settle any such claim <br />or suit and pay the amount of any settlement or <br />judgment rendered thereon. <br /> <br />9. Said City manager shall be reimbursed <br />'for, or the City of Martinsville may pay directly, <br />the reasonable expense of packing and moving <br />himself, his family and his personal prcperty from <br />Roanoke, Virginia to Martinsville, Virginia. <br /> <br /> 10. In the event the City Manager is <br /> terminated by the Council during such time that <br /> the City Manager is willing and able to perform <br />'his duties under this agreement, then in that <br /> event the City of Martinsville shall pay to the <br /> City'Manager a lump sum cash payment equal <br /> three months' aggregate salary; provided, however, <br /> <br /> <br />
