FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 1992 <br /> <br />A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding was <br />held on Friday, January 17, 1992, in the boardroom, Southwestern <br />Virginia Gas Company, to consider Personnel Action. All members <br />of Council were present: Allan McClain, Mayor; Alfred T. Groden, <br />Vice-Mayor; George B. Adams, Jr.; L. D. Oakes; and Clyde L. Willjams. <br /> <br />Following the Mayor's welcoming comments, Mayor McClain stated that <br />it was the desire of Council to convene into Executive Session to <br />consider personnel matters. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by an <br />unanimous recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for <br />the purpose of considering personnel matters, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into <br />regular session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempted from opening <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening <br />the Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said <br />Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
