WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 1992 <br /> <br /> A special and duly-called meeting of the Cguncil of the City of <br /> Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding, was <br /> held on Wednesday, January 15, 1992, in the boardroom, Southwestern <br /> <br />· Virginia Gas Company, to consider Personnel ActiOn. All members of <br /> Council were present: Allan McClain,~Mayor; Alfred T. Groden, Vice-. <br /> Mayor; George B. Adams, Jr.; L. D. Oakes; and Clyde L. Williams. <br /> <br />Following the Mayor's welcoming comments, motion was made by George <br /> <br />B. Adams, Jr., seconded by L. D. Oakes, that Betty J. Hundley be <br /> <br />named Acting, Acting Clerk of Council. Motion was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain stated that it was the desire of Council to convene <br />into Executive Session to consider personnel matters. Therefore, in <br />accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by an <br />unanimous recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for <br />the prupose of considering personnel matters, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into <br />regular session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempted from opening <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening <br /> <br /> <br />
