THURSDAY~ FEBRUARY 4~ 1999
that the Han-ison house could be saved and relocated. Council Member Haskell then stated her belief that the

Albert Harris and Swanson Street projects would result in a stunning example of a reuse of an older building.

Council next heard a presentation on the work to be done at the former Tultex site on Moss Street..
Mr. Cltris Morris, Engineer with the Public Works Department, stated that when demolition of the old Tultex
building had begun no one had anticipated the extent of deficiencies in the storm water drainage and sewer
system infrastructure below ground on the site. He then stated that the contractor on site, Rohan
Construction, had produced an estimate to correct the problems, with a cost for the sewer work set at
$13,550, the cost for storm drain work at $19,000, and a total estimate of $32,550. Mr. Morris also noted
that the City had closed on the purchase of the adjacent Martin property, thus completing the acquisition of
the entire site desired and providing a potential source of fi!l material for the work to be done nearby. Mr.
Reynolds closed the discussion by stating that it may prove possible to fund the work on the old Tultex site
from savings on the Clearview Business Park project.

There being no further business to come before Council the meeting was adjourned.

D~hwe!l, jr~~~
Assistant City Manager and Clerk of Council
