TUESDAY, IIE~ER 8, 1998 <br />regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor <br /> <br />Mark A. Crabtree presiding, was held Tuesday, December 8, 1998, in the Clearview Elementary School <br /> <br />Library, beginning at 7:00 P.M. This was the occasion of Council's quarterly Neighborhood Town Meeting, <br /> <br />and a Reception for members of the community was held at 6:00 P.M., prior to the regular meeting. The <br /> <br />following members of Council were present: Dr. Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; M. Gene Teague, Vice-Mayor; <br /> <br />Bruce H. T. Dallas, Elizabeth H. Haskell and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br /> After the invocation, provided by Council Member Roop, and followed by the Mayor' s cordial <br />welcome to the visitors present, Council proceeded with its consideration of the Minutes of their meetings of <br />November 10 and 12, 1998. Following notation of the need to provide a list of Council Members present at <br />the November 12 meeting within the minutes Council approved the minutes of two meetings by the following <br />vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br /> Council next considered recognition of the Shock-Trauma Technicians from the Martinsville Fire <br />Department and the Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad. Mr. Jerry Brock, Martinsville Fire Chief, was <br />present to discuss the accomplishments and dedication of those members of the Fire Department and Rescue <br />Squad who had achieved the level of training and certification to render services as Shock-Trauma <br />Technicians. Mr. Clarence Mondy, EMS Coordinator, was also present and participated in the presentation. <br />A list of those recognized is attached to these minutes. <br /> <br />Council next considered recognition of the Martinsville High School Golf Team for ks winning of District and <br />Regional Championships.
