THURSDAY, MAY 6. 1993 <br />personnel); (7) by a vote of 1 "yes" (Councilman Williams) and 4 "no", <br />turned down a request for additional funding by the Piedmont Regional <br />Community Services Board. <br /> <br />In reviewing the Supplemental Budget Priority I items which were <br />anticipated to be non-recurring in nature (and which were recommended <br />with specific funding sources), Council made the following decisions: <br />(1) unanimously approved funding for a Pay and Classification study <br />which would cover City and School employees in the amount of $30,000, <br />with the understanding that the City Manager could return to Council to <br />request additional funds if such were needed in the event additional <br />divisions of City government elected to be included in the study; (2) <br />unanimously approved $3,500 to fund the City share of a new City/County <br />map; and (3) by a vote of 3 "yes" and 2 "no" (Mayor McClain and <br />Councilman Williams), approved funding in the amount of $50,000 of the <br />request for $100,000 for professional services relating to producing a <br />new Comprehensive Plan for the City. It should be noted that the City <br />Manager strongly recommended funding in the full $100,000 amount, which <br />would have also funded a Parks Plan, and those voting against the <br />motion were in favor of funding the program at the $100,000 amount <br />recommended by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />recommendation of the City Manager to provide a one-time lump sum <br />payment to all employees under the City's Pay Plan who are on the <br />payroll from July 1-November 30, 1993 to be paid on November 30, 1993. <br />The lump sum payment does not affect the City's Pay Plan which was last <br />amended on July 1, 1992. Also upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />unanimous vote, Council approved the granting of the day after <br /> <br /> <br />
