3.04 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 28. 1994 <br /> <br />A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding, was held <br />Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at the Patrick Henry Elementary School, 1810 <br />Church Street Extension., beginning at 7:30 P.M. All members of Council <br />were present: Allan McClain, Mayor; George B. Adams, Jr., Vice-Mayor; <br />L. D. Oakes; M. Gene Teague; and Clyde L. Willjams. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor McClain's cordial welcome to <br />visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its June 14, 1994 <br />meeting as circulated and amended. <br /> <br />Council then conducted a Neighborhood Town Meeting, with the following <br />individuals making comments: (1) Alexis Lee, 127 Sellers Street, <br />expressed appreciation to Mayor McClain for his service to the <br />community on the occasion of his final City Council meeting; Ms. Lee <br />also asked what would be the best method of communicating to the <br />members of Council, to which several methods were suggested, foremost <br />of which was to send correspondence to Council in care of the City <br />Manager; (2) Tarleton Andes, 1701 E. Church St. $~t., parkview <br />Apartments~"requested that on-street parking be allowed on Church <br />Street Extension to allow for visitor parking at the Parkview <br />Apartments; and (3) Franklin Foard, 700 Zee Street, reviewed a lengthy <br />history of problems with stormwater drainage in the area of Zee Street <br />and Stratford Court; City Manager Earl B- Reynolds, Jr. stated he would <br />prepare a briefing on this matter summarizing the problem and actions <br />taken by the City to deal with the problem. There being no other <br />comments from members of the audience, Mayor McClain and the members of <br />Council expressed appreciation to the citizens who artended the Town <br />Meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
