Goal: Insure the safety and well being of MartlnsviHe citizens._ <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Develop a mobile Police station. <br /> <br />Action Plan: <br /> <br />Plans prepared for Councfi funding and implementation in 1999, <br /> <br />Evaluate fadlity needs of public safety/judicial services of <br />Martinsville and develop a plan for Councfi review by April of 99. <br /> <br />.Goal: Maintain and enhance a high quality City employee work <br /> ..' ' ' force. .. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Conduct periodic reviews of employee pay plan to assure it remains <br />competitive in the market place, <br /> <br />Action Plan: <br /> <br />Department directors will conduct assessments and report to City <br />Manager circ-mstances that make department job placement not <br />competitive in the market place. <br /> <br />· Council will conduct a work session to familiarize itself with <br /> current policy _and personnel issues. <br /> <br />· Council will establish long term personnel objectives. <br /> <br />· Council will conduct comprehensive bi-annual review of employee <br /> pay plan, <br /> <br />The Public Information Officer will assist Council in developing <br />strategies that can enhance the community's understanding of the <br />high quality of skilled employees serving the City. <br /> <br />The Council session on Friday was spent reviewing issues that arose during <br />interviews and did not emerge as a part of the p]anning process on Thursday. <br />A considerable portion of Friday was spent in discussing personnel matters <br />and in the development of Council's new goal related to a quality work force. <br />It was agreed that during the coming year Council agenda should include: <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br /> <br />
