WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 1995 blish its own Magistrate's Office after the new Henry County Courthouse opens. Fire Chief Lewis .Reeves noted some accomplishments of his department: (1) Completion of the Strategic Pu,bliC Safety Plan for the City; (2) Fire Department personnel have exoeeded pro3ections for training--88% had obtained First Responder (Certified) status or better and 58% Emergency Medical Technician status--this has been acquired through in- service training at no a~dditional cost to the City; (3) In final stages of completing State Certification of Hazmat Level II Operations; and (4) The Industrial School has been very successful--300+ people trained annually in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and DuPont--we receive $15,674 from the State to conduct this School. The Fire Department ' s objectives include ( 1 ) Implementation of the First Responder Program and (2) Continue training. Mr. Harned noted some objectives: (1) Establishin~ the Clearview Business Park; (~) Find~n~ a use for the old hospital property; (3) Im~rovin~ ~r~er~ maintenance city-wide through the BOCA II Code; and (4) Implementin~ "Back-Office"
