THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1995
School Division: (1) provide for an overall upgrade of the fleet; (2)
automation of the fuel dispensing operation and the vehicle records
maintenance system; and (3) make plans for relocation of the vehicle
maintenance facility to a site that provides more space.

Mr. Hooper recommended that the City and School Division consider
consolidating vehicle maintenance services. Mr. Hooper recommended
short-term steps be taken! in the area of 3oint purchasing of vehicle
supplies (such as gasoline), a joint system for automated fuel
dispensing and sharing of maintenance of the School Division's 20
vehicles which are currently serviced by the private sector. Mr.
Hooper recommended that a formal service agreement be entered into
between the City and School Division if additional cooperative
arrangements are developed.

A discussion of Mr. Hooper's report was then commenced between members
of Council and members of the School and City Administrations. It was
suggested that the City could provide some maintenance services for the
School Division's vehicles which are not School buses through direct
charges for such services.

There being no other business to discuss, Councilman Williams declared
the meeting adjourned.

L n .
