84 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 1996 <br /> <br />Theofilos G. Balabanis to rezone Lot 4R located at 112 Maple Street <br />from R-6 Residential to C-1A Commercial; and (2) an amendment to the <br />City's Proposed Land Use Plan to designate this property as Commercial <br />rather than High Density Residential. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 11/30/95. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the following items were discussed: (1) <br />in response to a question from Vice-Mayor Oakes, Public Works Director <br />Leon E. Towarnicki provided a report on the City's efforts to deal with <br />the heavy snowfall which occurred January 6-7, 1996; and (2) in <br />response to a question from Mayor Adams, Mr. Reynolds said a more <br />formal legislative package would be presented to area legislators for <br />their use during the upcoming Session. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the Planning <br />Commission, Drug Task Force, and Patrick Henry Development Council, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1; (2) consultation with legal counsel, as <br />authorized by Subsection 7; (3) possible disposition of City-owned <br />property, as authorized by Subsection 3; (4) possible acquisition of <br />property for public use, as authorized by Subsection 3; and (5) <br />consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. At the <br />conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified <br />that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting <br />requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive <br /> <br /> <br />
