TBURS])AY. DECEMBER 11. 1997 <br /> <br /> A special and duly-called meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Vice-Mayor Dr. <br /> <br /> Mark A. Crabtree presiding, was hdd Thursday, Dec~aber 11, 1997, in the Lower Level Conference Room, <br /> City Hall, beginning at 11:00 A.M. The purpose of the meeting was a Work Session on Water, Sewer and <br /> Electric Service Terms and Conditions, and a report from the Martinsville team that attended a recent <br /> <br />~'~, National Institute of Corrections Program in Colorado. The following members of Council were present: Dr. <br /> Mark A. Crabtree, Vice~Mayor; Bruce H. T. Dallas; Elizabeth H. Haskell; and M. Gene Teague. Mayor <br /> George B. Adams, Jr. was absgnt while recovering from recent surgery. <br /> <br />Prior to the beginning of the meeting Vice-Mayor Crabtree had asked that an addendure to the agenda be <br />made, to add an Executive Session. Council began their Work Session with this Executive Session and, in <br />accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon motion, <br />duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Executive Session for the purpose of <br />discussing the following matters: (A.) Possible disposition of publicly held property, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that ( 1 ) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said executive session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed, or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting Council took no action on Item A. of their Executive Session. <br /> <br />As Council had used its entire allotted time for the Work Session on their Executive Session item, all members <br />present concurred that they would reschedule the items on today' s agenda for their Work Session on January <br />8, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />
