Johnsoll. to <br />abandon the southern section of Dalton Street (alley) This portion of the alley is <br />approximatdy 20 ket 10 \\ iuth and 149 teet in length. located north of Fayette Street as <br />sho\\'n on Tax Map 22 of the City of Marlinsvillc. <br /> <br />At the Public llearing it was noted this alley is located betweell two buildings O\\Tl\:J by <br />the petitioners. This section of Dalton Street alley is not maintained by the City nor docs <br />it serve any public pU'll(1Se other than for an electric line. Should the abandonment bc <br />granted the City needs to retain a lO-foot ulility casement for this line. There has not <br />been any opposition to this proposal. <br /> <br />In order to assure compliance with Virginia Code 15.2-22UO, it is stated thaI the public <br />purpose for \\.:hich these Resolutions me initiated is to fulfill the requirements of public <br />necessity, convcniem:c, and general welfare. <br /> <br />Following discussion of tbe mailer. the Planning Commission votd unanimollsly ()-O) to <br />recommend to City Council the proposed abandonment be granted, conditioned 011 <br />payment of the assessed value of land along with a recordation fee, and liling of an <br />appropriate map showing combination \l,'ith adjacent lots. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission respectfully submits the above recommendation It)f Council's <br />further consideration. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />James A.
