Nost, If not all, localities passed a local <br />ordinance authorizing this fee when it was first established in 2002. <br /> <br />This legislative change would require a new or amended local ordinance. We arc notifYing the cou <br />rts now so that this process may be initiated before the July 1, 2007 effective date, If your localit <br />y passes a local ordinance to change the amount of the assessment provided in Va. Code ~ 53.1- <br />120 , the Financial Management System (FMS) will need to reflect this change.
