Most, if not al/, localities passed a local <br />ordinance authorizing this fee when it was first established in 2002. <br /> <br />ThiS legislative change would require a new or amended local ordinance. We are notifYing the cou <br />rts now so that this process may be initiated before the July I, 2007 effective date. If your localit <br />y passes a local ordinance to change the amount of the assessment provided in Va. Code * 53.]- <br />120 , the Financial Management System (FMS) will need to reflect this change.
