<br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville Redevelopment & Housing Authority (MRHA) <br />administers a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program serving Martinsville and <br />Henry County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the MRHA began operating under the direct administration of the United <br />States Department of Housing and Urban development (HUD), on April 1,2002; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has encouraged all <br />active tenant - based and project - based housing authorities to establish homeownership <br />programs as an option for their recipients; now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />session assembled February 27,2007, hereby approves the establishment of the Housing <br />Choice Voucher Option Program for use as outlined above. <br /> <br />************ <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />Susan N.
