<br />4 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 28, 1956 <br /> <br />,/,.--.' <br /> <br />This is to advise C01.l..11cil that the Martinsville Pl2.nnmg COl11L1ission, <br />at its rcg'cl1ar meeting on February 15, 1956, ha.d before it a request <br />from Lanier Farm, Inc., for ]:X3rmission to lay 2. water line on <br />Indian Trail bet~een Beverley Way and Clark Road. The Planning <br />Commission considered this request under Section 0, Paragraph B of <br />the Martinsvillc Subdivision Regulations. After considering this <br />request, the PlanrrLl'€ Commis sion denied sar:Je as Tlas stated, hovrever, <br />they granted concLi. tional aBT oval to the developer of this property <br />under Section 2, ParaGraph B of the Ivlartinsville Subdivision <br />Regu2.ations and stated the following conditions w;lich the Commission <br />is, by this letter, reconmlending to COlillCil: <br /> <br />/_. <br /> <br />1. That the developer install curb and gutter on the east side <br />of Indian Trail anc. Sam Lions Trail between Beverley Way and <br />the east corporate limits of Martinsville. <br /> <br />2. That the developer install all drainage facilities as required <br />by ordinance. <br /> <br />~=' <br />~~ <br />c <br />g <br /> <br />The Coramission granted a variance from the terms of the Subdivision <br />Ordir.:ance to relieve the developer of the installation of curb and <br />gutter on the west sj.de of Indian Trail in view of the fact that <br />there are no lots available for sale on this side of the s trect <br />and particularly because this s ubcj.visio n was approved prior to t.~e <br />adoption of the Subdivision Ordinance. <br /> <br />The Plannirg Commissi.on clso recommends that Council install all <br />utilities and street improvements as shown in the Subdiv:i.sion <br />Orclincmce on the part of' the City. <br /> <br />The Plannirg Commission respectfully submits this rcconmlendations <br />for Cour:cil1s further consideration. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Ii rezoning request dated February 23, 1956 from LIr. Ro;y C. Dodson was referred <br /> <br />to the Plarming Commission for its consideration and recolTh'7lendations. M"r. Dodson <br /> <br />requested that certain property owned by him on Standpipe IIill Road between Banner <br /> <br />Street and an alley off Standpipe Hill Road be rezoned from "commercial" to <br /> <br />"rosic1entialll. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Heports on Audit of both the City Treasurer's records and triO City Trial <br /> <br />Justice's reGards for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1955, as conducted and <br /> <br />prepared by the State Auditor of Public Accounts, were received and acknovrledged. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />VI.
