Lovell, Ellsworth Street, to use a small portion of Brow

Street Field (in the extreme Southwest end) for automobile parking privileges

was approved for City Manager Mathewson's signature.

By letter dated October 24, 1955 Mrs. Curtis Bouldin, on behalf of the property

owners in the one-thousand block of Chalmers Street, requested that Council, in

view of the statement that the property owners in this block are willing to pay

their sixty-five (65%) per cent share of the cost of constructing curb-and-gutter

for the block, give immediate consideration to authorizing or approving this

project. Council, in aclmowledging this request, advised that present cur"b-and-

gutter commitments would carry well into the Spring of 1956 but at that time the

~'~
~~
i

Council will review construction progress and determine whether this request can

be considered before the end of the fiscal year.

By letter dated October 18, 1955 Mrs. J. P. (Elsie E.) Young of Pumphouse Road

requested that the City quitclaim and deed to her a small tract of City-owned

land lying between the present Pumphouse Road right-of-way near Jones Creek and

Mrs. Youngts property. Mrs. Young pointed out that at one time her property

fronted on Pumphouse Road but that, subsequently, as a result of re-locating this

road the Ci tyl S property now lies between her property and the present Pumphouse

Road. Council ordered that the property in question be advertised for bids for

option to purchase this tract and that the successful bidder be given the

opportuni ty to exercise his option if the bidder can show ownership of surrounding

contiguous property and, also, intention to develop all of the property.
