<br />3~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 14, 1955 <br /> <br />papers, in proper legal form, shall be filed with the Judge or his authorized agent of' <br /> <br />the Roanoke Detention Home for Juveniles as a prerequisite to admittance-the City of <br /> <br />~tinsville to pay the City of' Roanoke two dollars ($2.00) per day, or fraction thereof, <br /> <br />for each child so committed. from the City of Martinsvi1le. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized City Manager <br /> <br />Mathewson to execute a contract with the State Highway Department guaranteeing that the <br /> <br />City will pay its share of the cost of widening and extending Memorial Boulevard South, <br /> <br />this authorization being given with the understanding that the City will pay no more <br /> <br />of its share during the forthcoming fiscal year than the $35,000.00 appropriated far <br /> <br />this project and any balance during the succeeding fiscal year. <br /> <br />~;~ <br />0", <br />rr <br />~ <br /> <br />In re-appointing Messrs. F. M. Lacy and Charles C. Broun to menbership on the City <br /> <br />School Board for three-year terms beginning July 1, 1955, Council acknowledged with <br /> <br />, <br />appreciation the splendid services rendered the City by these gentlemen while members <br /> <br />of the SChool Board. <br /> <br />Council appointed the local firm of E.
