A path for horse back riding and bicycles. <br /> <br />The following Planning Commission recommendation, concerning a street name <br /> <br />change in the "lest :Ehd area, was received and accepted by Council; however, <br /> <br />Council did not officially effect said change pending further consideration <br /> <br />of this matter at its next regular meeting, at which time interested parties <br /> <br />will be heard if the:t so desire: <br /> <br />The Plmming Commission of the City of Martinsville, at its <br />reguls.r meeting April 28, 1955, considered the renaming of a <br />street la10wn as Jefferson street. The street under consideration <br />has for a long time been designated on a subdivision lying in the <br />Hest-End section of Martinsville off Pine Hall Road. This street <br />was unopened until recently. In the past months this street has <br />been opened and has begul to be developed. Also, a new sub- <br />di vision known as T,hay Park has been opened as a continuation (If <br />Jefferson street. The section of \-lray Park 'Which is an extension <br />of Jefferson street has been named Yorkshire Place. <br /> <br />In view of the fact that we presently have opened and developed <br />a street }~o~m as Jefferson street and also a street opened and <br />developed known as Jefferson Circle, the Planning Commission felt <br />it would be in order to rename Jefferson Street in West-End that <br />is in the process of development at the present time. <br /> <br />After due consideration of this matter, the Planning Commission <br />voted uIlanirously to recommend to the Council that Jefferson Street <br />and its extension known as Yorkshire Place be renamed to York- <br />shire Road. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission respectfully sulm:i ts this recoI!l!nendation <br />for Council's further consideration. <br />
