McGhee, Traffic & Planning Engineer BE IT CRDAINED by the Council of the CiiU of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meetiIl?; assembled October 12, 1954, that it doth hereby and herein an:end Chapter I, Section 1, Paragraphs 25 and 26 and Chapter I, Section 4(b), Paragraphs 2 and 2 of the Traffic and Safety C ode of said City of Martinsville to read as follows: ~ter I, Section 1 -Paragraph 25 - BUsINESS DISTRICT The territory contiguous to any highway between designated points as follows : Church street between Moss Street and C 1eveland Street. Moss Street between Church Street and George Street. Fayette Street between Armstead Street and Jones Street. Main Street between Moss Street and Clay Street. Bridge Street between Chestnut Street and Main Street. Jones Street between Main Street and Franklin Street. Franklin Street between llain Street and. Fontaine Street. Walnut Street between Church Street and Main Street. Lester Street between Church Street and Carolina & Northwestern Railroad. Clay Street between ChurCh street. and Carolina & Northwestern Railroad. Old National Highway between Lester street and Main Street. Mineral and Green Streets between Lester street and Clay Street. Broad Street between Chestnut Street and Church Street. Chestnut Street between Broad and Bridge Streets. Broad Street between Emmett Street and Memorial Boulevard. Memorial Boulevard and Bridge Street from 200 feet north of the intersection of Bridge and Cross Streets to a point 200 feet south of the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Spring Street. Starling Avenue between Carter Street and Memorial Boulevard. Memorial Boulevard from Starling Avenue to a point 100 feet south of the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Douglas Street. Fayette Street between Roundabout Road and Church Street. Paragraph 26 - RESIDENCE DISTRICT The territory contiguous to any highway, not comprising a business district as specified herein. Cha~ter I, Section 4(b) aragraph2 - 20 miles per hour in business districts as defined herein, except when a street passing through a business district is a divided highway consisting of four or more lanes a speed of 30 miles per hour may be allowed. Paragraph 3 - 30 miles an hour in a residence district, as defined herein, except when other regulated by signs or Police Officers. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Paragraph 4 of Section 4(b) of Chapter I of said Traffic and Safety Code be and is hereby repealed in its entirety. An emergency existing, this ar"dinar:ce shall be in effect from date of its passage.
