F. Carter of the <br /> <br />General Assembly concerning the early completion of the improvements to Route 58 <br /> <br />west and Route 220 south of :Martinsville and, also, the extending of the New Route <br /> <br />220 Thoroughfare or Distribution Road as a Federal-State-Local project from its <br /> <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />i <br /> <br />presently proposed southern terminus to the City's corporate limits on Route 220 <br /> <br />south, Council adopted the following resolution requesting said early completion <br /> <br />of said improvements and extension of said Thoruughfare by the State Department <br /> <br />of Highways with copies to the City's representatives in the Assembly and a copy <br /> <br />to the State Highway Department: <br /> <br />(SEE INSERT) <br /> <br />Council took no action, other than to acknowledge same, on an offer from the <br /> <br />Division of Local Planning of the State Board of Conservation and Development <br /> <br />to lease to the City certain lands on Philpott Reservoir for recreational <br /> <br />development. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged with appreciation a letter from Radio Station WMVA Manager <br /> <br />Maynard Dillaber thanking members of the Council and other City officials for their <br /> <br />assistance and participation in the current "March of Dimes" fund-raising campaign. <br /> <br />C ounci 1 was adj ourned. <br /> <br />j~);~\\.1(' <br /> <br />W. ti.
