<br />J -r <br /> <br />November 28, 2006 <br /> <br />Council Member Lawson announced the Uptown open house and the tree <br /> <br /> <br />lighting on Thursday, November 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the <br /> <br /> <br />Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill indicated that he would like to see a list of the <br /> <br />items already cut from the current budget publicized. <br /> <br />City Manager Collins mentioned the Wilson Park committees that are <br /> <br />currently meeting, the Chamber pre-legislative conference on December 6, <br /> <br />Artisan Center open house and an upcoming presentation on retail in the <br /> <br />Uptown area at the Artisan Center. The rails to trails should be paved in two- <br /> <br />four weeks. The EDC is doing new welcome signs for Henry County and will be <br /> <br /> <br />in contact with the City and they have updated their website. He also <br /> <br /> <br />reminded Council to turn in their disclosure statements and reminded all of <br /> <br /> <br />the Good Neighbor Fund. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br /> <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and <br /> <br />upon motion by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br /> <br />recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of <br /> <br />discussing the following matters: Appointments to Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />as authorized by Subsection 1 and Consultation with legal counsel pertaining <br />
