Upon authorization of Council, ~~yor Shultz appointed a <br /> <br />special committee to select available sites for a new Armory for review <br /> <br />by the Adjutant General, Mayor Shultz appointing Vice-~~yor Stone, <br />Councilman Burch, City Manager Hirst, Public Works Director George Brown, <br />and local Commanding Officer Jackson C. Dodge, with authorization to <br />invite such other citizens as the committee desires to serve on the committee. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, Council granted permission to <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. J. D. Renfroe to extend a City vl8.ter main some seventy-five (75) feet <br /> <br /> <br />along Old Danville Road from a point near its intersection with Corn Tassel <br /> <br /> <br />Trail east to a point directly opposite Mr. Renfroe's property outside the <br /> <br /> <br />east corporate limits to permit ~tr. Eenfroe to tap the line and extend a <br /> <br /> <br />smaller service line into his home. The record showed that Councilman Brown <br /> <br /> <br />abstained from voting on this matter. Permission was granted with the <br /> <br /> <br />understanding that such an extension will meet the requirements of the City's <br /> <br /> <br />regulations governing the extension of utility lines outside the corporate <br /> <br /> <br />limits, with the exception of sewerage service requirements which were <br /> <br /> <br />waived. <br /> <br />}~. Wilbert E. Evans, residing at 1419 South Askin Street, presented a written <br /> <br /> <br />request that the City annex property owned by him and located outside the <br /> <br /> <br />corporate limits at 1428 South Askin Street. Council suggested that ~~. Evans <br /> <br /> <br />confer wit~ Hon. John D. Hooker, Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court, <br /> <br /> <br />before whom is now pending an annexation petition from residents of the Lake <br /> <br />Lanier area east of the City's east corporate limits. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
