<br />56 <br /> <br />AUGUST 26. 1958 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />After reviewing sections of the City Code relating to unnecessary noises-- <br /> <br />such as automobile horn blowing, automobile-truck mufflers, and factory <br /> <br />whistles--Council asked City Manager Hirst to obtain a copy of the regulations <br /> <br />in effect in the City of Memphis, Tennessee, for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of copies of a Report on Audit, as prepared <br /> <br />by the Auditor of Public Accounts for the Conrrnonwealth of Virginia, on the <br /> <br />office and records of the Ci ty Circuit Court Clerk fer the calendar year 1957. <br /> <br />Council also acknowledged receipt of two awards and plaques given the City <br /> <br />of Martinsville for its safety program, as given by the National Safety <br /> <br />Council and the American Automobile Association. <br /> <br />At the suggestion of Vice-Mayor stone and in accordance with a request of the <br /> <br />Martinsville-Henry County Airport Development Corporation, Council authorized <br /> <br />Mayor Shultz to appoint representatives from the City to serve jointly with <br /> <br />representatives of Henry County as a study group recommended by the Airport <br /> <br />Development organization. <br /> <br />Council noted with regrets the completion of the councilmanic terms of office <br /> <br />of both Mr. J. Robert Walker and Mr. Bradford H.
