Stone <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />The regular Clerk of the Council was directed to prepare a resolution as an expression <br />of the Council fS regret at the resignation of Mr. Stone and in aoknowledgment of the <br />services he has rendered to the City in the eapaci ty of Attorney, -this resolution to <br /> <br />be subni.tted at the next regular meeting of the City Council and be made a part of the <br /> <br />minutes thereof. <br /> <br />~.'".'.C <br />~' ~ Q <br />\C~ <br />I"" <br />I~i <br /> <br />The Council discussed at length action with respeot to filling the vacancy and on <br />motion duly made and seconded, and unanimously adopted, it was moved that Mr. Claude <br />E. Taylor, Jr., be appointed Attorney for the City of Martinsville at an annual salary <br />of $3,000.00 per annum with such allowances for expenses as are included in the current <br /> <br />City budget for that office. <br /> <br />The Vice-Mayor was requested to contact Mr. Taylor, he doing so during the meeting and <br /> <br />indica ting that Mr. Taylor stated his willingness to accept the position. It was <br /> <br />indicated that MI:-. Taylor would assume this position at such time as arrangements could <br /> <br />be made with Mr. Stone and Mr. Taylor for a satisfactory transfer of the current work <br />of the legal department. <br /> <br />The Acting Clerk prepared a notice of the call of the meeting to which all members <br /> <br />indicated their presence by signature thereto. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Julian F.
