<br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville,
<br />
<br />Virginia, with W..ayor John Vi. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber,
<br />
<br />City Hall, on Tuesday, August 27, 1957, at 7:30 P.M., all members being present,
<br />
<br />as follovrs: Mayor and Councilman John Vi. Shultz; Vice-Mayor and Councilman E. E.
<br />
<br />Stone; and Councilmen Clarence C. Donavant, B. H. Hill, and J. R. Walker.
<br />
<br />After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular
<br />
<br />meeting held August D, 1957.

<br />By the following/resolutions Council established the tir.J.e (October 9, 1957) and
<br />
<br />place for the receiving of bids on $2,200,000 School Building Bonds, to be offered
<br />
<br />for sale for redemption in equal installments over the years 1958-1977, inclusive,
<br />
<br />and, also, the form of the bonds and interest CoUpOl1S:

<br />VmEREAS, the Council desires to ma~e provision for the sale of the
<br />$2,200,000 School Building Bonds authorized by the ordincmce adopted by
<br />the Counc il on Apr il 23, 1957; NOVI, THEREFffiE,
<br />
<br />BE IT P.ESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville as follows:
<br />
<br />(1) Said $2,200,000 School Building Bonds of the City of Martinsville
<br />shall be s old at public sale pursuant to and in accordance with the following
<br />Notice of Sale:

<br />The City of Martinsville, in the State of Virginia, shall receive
<br />sealed proposals for the purchase of the bonds of said City hereinafter
<br />described, until 12 o'clock noon (Eastern Standard T:i.Jne), on October 9,
<br />1957, at the office of the State Commission on Local Debt of the
<br />Commornvealth of V:irginia, Room 222, Finance Building , Capitol Square,
<br />Richmond, V:bginia. At soch time and place the sealed bids received will
<br />be publicly opened by such Commission on Local Debt.
