<br />,- <br /> <br />(4) <br />(5) <br />(6) <br />(7) <br /> <br />(8) <br /> <br />(9) <br /> <br />(10) <br /> <br />(11) <br /> <br />~Cg <br />I~~ <br />IV' <br /> <br />1: <br /> <br />MONDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 18. 1957 <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br /> <br />North Memorial Boulevard widening--State Highway Department <br />anticipates construction during next fiscal year; <br />West Fayette street improvements--State aid not available <br />in foreseeable future, whereupon Council authorized the <br />offering to residents and property owners the opportunity <br />to participate in a curb-and-gutter project on a shared <br />cost basis; <br />East Church Street fram Booker street to Bob Gregory <br />Street (improvements)--proposa1s for preliminary survey <br />being invi tad; <br />Chatham Road and Danvi11e Road--no comment; <br />Northerm By-Paas-estimated cost $1,000,000; <br />Route 220-58 South Cloverleat--planned and being financed <br />by State Highway Department; <br />Depot street--engineering survey for extension recommended <br />and approved; <br />Bridge Street Widening--initial step (from Church to Chestnut <br />Streets) at;thorized; <br />Drown street Extension (west)--investigation and study approved <br />(to Bridge Street); <br />Chestnut Street Extension (east)--p1ans and consideration to <br />be correlated with overall planning program; and <br />Plannhlg Program--will take into consideration foregoing <br />matters. <br /> <br />(3)' <br /> <br />Upon being advised that there exists duplications end conflicts among severa.l <br />of the City's street names, Council authorized City Manager Hirst to take <br /> <br />whatever steps necessary to elhuinate such duplications and conflicts. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City Manager, Council authorized the Ct1tting and/or <br /> <br />thinning of some thirty-five acres of woodland or timber--cf the Ci ty-cwned <br /> <br />sixty-acre tract-on the south side of Pumphouse Road. <br /> <br />B~r letter dated February 12, 1957, the Planning Commission recoIlD'nended uthat <br /> <br />the Council investigate, in some manner, the possibility of improving" the <br /> <br />Ci ty "parks in order that they might be more useable by their c1 tizenry". <br /> <br />After reviewing the several curb-end-gutter requests pending, Council approved <br /> <br />the following recommended projects: <br /> <br />(1) Askin Street, 3000' fram Union Street south; <br />(2) r.reyson Street, rematnoer inside corporate limits; ~mo <br />(3) Parkview Street, from Mulberry Street to Spruce Street. <br />
