J. Clyde Hooker, Sr.) are worked out should the petitioner desire to pursue the matter further: This is to advise you of action taken by the Planning Commission at its regulCT meeting June 28, 1956 in a matter regarding Subdivision Ordinance. The Commission had before it a request from 1T. J. Clyde Hooker, Sr., for variance from the terms of the Martinsville Subdivision regulations to permit Mr. Hooker to extend a water main for approximately one hundred (100) feet along Minor Street, eastward from i~ intersection with Pond street. The COIl'Jnission granted a variance in t:lis matter, however, not in the manner requested. It Was the decision of the Commis sion tha t the property owner be required to grade Minor Street in accordance with the Subdivision Ordinance from its intersection with Pond Street to the eas t line of his property and to put a layer of stone on the graded portion. In consideration of these improvements the Planning Commission hereby recommends to City Council that the City extend t:is water main to serve this prol~rty. A variance from the remainder of the required irmro'.TeIlBnts was grantee. Mr. Hooker for the following reasons: 1. That all of ihe lots fronting on Minor Street are individually owne d. 2. It was the feeling of the Commission that a hardship would be created if it were to require one individual to meet all terms of the Ordinance in regard to improvements of this Street.
