<br />T/JHEREAS, on the 1 Lth day of Harch, 1961, the Council received the report of
<br />the Committee together with the City Eanager's recommended annroval;
<br />
<br />NOT~J, THEREFORE, BE IT mDA INED BY THE C OUNC IL 0'" T:HE CITY OF HtJ.RT INS-v ILLE :
<br />
<br />(1) That the Southern Standard Buildinp- Code, 1960-1961 Revision, wi.th
<br />certain additi.ons, changes and omissions hereInabove referrerl to, be and the
<br />same is hereby adonted as the building code of the City of Hartbsville and,
<br />as sHch, shall be entitled "Building Code, 113.rt::insville, 1961";
<br />
<br />(2) That all and singu.le.r the Drovisions relatinCl' to the construction,
<br />equimnent, alteration, renair, remodeling, anc demolition of buildinp's in the
<br />City of Hartinsville, and the fees therefor, as set forth in the chanters and
<br />sections of S8.l0 Building Code, Hart:insvHle, 1961, together uith the provisions
<br />for the administrati_on of said Building Code, be am' the same !J.re hereby adonted
<br />as general ord:tnances of the City 0: HartinsviJle; hm-lever, it shall not be
<br />necessary for the Clerk of the Councn to cony into the Crdinances and the
<br />CouncH Hinute Books of the City said BuilMnr Code, HartinsviHe, 1961 but "he
<br />shall maintain in his office a cony of said code for public inspection;
<br />
<br />(3) That the Drovisions of said Building Code, M3.rtinsville, 1961 shall
<br />ta1::e effect on and after M3.rch 28, 1961; and
<br />
<br />(4) That the Building Code of NartIns'fHle, 1951, as amended, with the
<br />exceDtion of Sllcn portions as are retained in the Building Code, l-hrtinsvEle,
<br />1961, anr'l a11 ordinances of' said .p"eneraJ nature in conflict \'vith said B'J:i.lding
<br />Code, Hartin svillP, 1961 are hereby renealed as of Narch 28, 1061, but srdd
<br />reDeal, however, snaIl not affect any act of o-;'fense done or cormnitted, or any
<br />Denalty, forfeiture or punishment in~1rred, or any right acc~ling or acc~Jed,
<br />aCCluired or established, or any Drosecution of proceeding pendins- at or on
<br />)v1'arch 28, 1961;

<br />(5) That nothing in the Build::ng Code, Martinsvil1e, 1961, shall reqllire
<br />any change in the Dlans, construction, alteration or repair of any bu11dinr: or
<br />structure for \,Thich a Derm~t vms granted by or for ',Thich plans ',Tere on fj] e
<br />with the Buildinrr Offi cia1 0: tne City of H:'lrtinsvEle prior to l.b.rch 28, 1961
<br />unless, and if, the construction, alteration or repair of sucll building or
<br />structure shall have been discont;nued for a Deriod of ninety days or more
<br />from said March 28, 1961, in "'Tl1ich event an:'t further construction, alteration
<br />or renair of such building or st~lcture shall conform 'N'1th the Drovisions of
<br />the Buildbg Code, Hartinsville, 1961; a'1d

<br />(6) That a copy of this ordinance shall be included ",nth eacll CODY of said
<br />Building Code, rvrartinsville, 1961.

<br />Council aclmo\..J'ledged receipt of a letter from Hrs. George (SDOttswooc H.) Box

<br />requesting the installation of street-liGhts in the vicinity of the Box res-1.dence

<br />on Sam Lion Trail.
