<br />:40 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEVB8R 22. 1960 <br /> <br />Fuel Clause <br />Plan 1: <br />This rate is based upon the weighted average cosv of fuel cons~~ed <br />by Appalachian Power Company at its principal generating stations. <br />For the purpose of computing fuel costs under this fuel clause, the <br />price per ton paid for coal will be based solely on purchases from <br />non-affiliated mined. <br />If during any monthly period such average cost is above 18.5 cents <br />per 1,000,000 BTU by at least .5 cent, an additional charge during the <br />second month thereafter will be made on the actual kwhrs billed at 1.5 <br />cents per kwhr during said second month at the rate of .006 cent per <br />kwhr for each full .5 cent increase in cost of fuel above 18.5 cents <br />per 1,000,000 BTU. <br />If during any monthly period such average cost is less than 18.5 cer.ts <br />per 1,000,000 BTU by at least .5 cent, the bill rendered to the customer <br />for the second succeeding month shall be decreased by an am01L11t equal to <br />the actual kwhrs billed at 1.5 cents per kwhr during said second month <br />multiplied by .006 cent, per kwhr for each full .5 cent decrease in the <br />cost of fuel below 18.5 cents per 1,rOO,000 BTU. <br />Plan 2: <br />None <br /> <br />Special Terms and Conditions <br />(See Rules and Regulations for operation of Electric Denartmerrt). <br /> <br />Effective w.te <br />Plan 1: <br />February 1, 1961 -- bills rendered monthly on and after this date. <br />Plan 2: <br />January 1, 1961 -- bills rendered quarterly on and after this date. <br /> <br />A request for abolition of the one-dollar-per-month school (utility) tax charged <br /> <br />churches and church properties was referred to a snecial committee composed of <br /> <br />Vice-}nyor Renick and Councilman E. E. Stone. <br /> <br />Pursuant to City l-Tanager Hirst's reoomr:lendation, Council authorized the constructing <br /> <br />of a 69~Volt transmission line connecting the City's Snruce Street Substation and <br /> <br />the Maple Street Substation, being a phase in the City's seven-year electric system <br /> <br />expansion program and preparatory to other imnrovements in the expansion program. <br /> <br />Mr. & Mr-s. C. H. Scearce, of 1108 Chatha'1l Heights, appeared before Council and cited <br /> <br />alleged damages to their nroperty at their adoress from the recent widening and <br /> <br />improving of Route 57 in front of their property.
