<br />36 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />~1~p S, 1960 <br /> <br />After considering further Comrmmity Hospital's recent petition for a reduction <br /> <br /> <br />in utility rates applicable to utility services furnished the hospital, Council <br /> <br /> <br />determired that no reduction in or exception to the City's applicable tariffs <br /> <br /> <br />can or should be made. <br /> <br />At Council's invitation, several representatives of the manufacturers of both <br /> <br /> <br />cast-iron and asbestos-cement water line pipe appeared before Council and <br /> <br /> <br />discussed the merits and qualities of the two kinds of pipe. <br /> <br />Upon being advised that a proposed electric povler contract Vritl1 the Appalachian <br /> <br />Power Company, as presented to and contingently approved by Council on February <br /> <br />23, 1960, has been revised at C our~ills request for the purpose of clarifying the <br /> <br />listing of industrial customers to be conti.nued as Appalachianls customers wi thin <br /> <br />the corporate limits am for the purpose of providing for the relocating by <br /> <br />Appalachian of its facilities on City right-of-way if necessitated by corntruction <br /> <br />or reconstruction of City facilities, and upon being advised that WiJey and 'Hilson, <br /> <br />Consulting Engineers, has reviewed the proposed power contract at the City's <br /> <br />request and has submitted its opinion i:ha t such contract would be advantageous to <br /> <br />the City, Council unanimously accepted said contract, as revised, and approved same <br /> <br />for Mayor Shultz' signature and execution on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following <br />Motor Vehicle License Tax Ordinance for the year beginning March IS, 1960, Council <br />directing that those sections of said ordinance pertaining to the licensing of <br />!leach motor vehic Ie, trailer, or semi-trailerfl shall be interpreted as requiring <br />City motor vehicle tags for each such vehicle whether in combination as a tractor- <br />trailer unit or separate: <br />
