l02 MONDAY NOVEMBER 30t 1959 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Jlartinsville, Virginia, with Mayor John W. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Monday, November 30, 1959, at 6:30- P.M., (this I1Beting having been rescheduled by order of Council for this date from Noveooer 24, 1959, in order to permit ~mbers of Council to appear before the State Water Control Board on said Noveni>er 24th). All members of Council were present with the exception of Councilman J. Frank Wilson, viz., Mayor and Coureilman John W. Shultz; Vice-Mayer and C ounc ilman E. E. Stone; and C ounc ilmen Thomas J. Burch and Clarence C. Donavant. After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular meeting held November 10, 1959. In accordance with duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a proposal, recommended by the Planning Commission on November 10, 1959, to rezone fran "A-l Residential" to "B_1 Business" that parcel of land situated on the west side of Brookdale Street between properties owned by the Sallie Early Estate and Mr. V. E. Wray, which parcel of land is owned by the C. Y. Thomas Estate, and, also, the adjacent V. E. Wray lot and, further, to establish a setback of forty feet for said properties proposed to be rezoned, measured from the centerline of Brookdale Street. It was noted that no one appeared before Council either in support or in opposition of the proposed rezoning; whereupon, Council accepted the Planning Canmission's recOIIlll:emation and adopted the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Code and Map to provide for said rezoning: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this thirtieth day of November, 1959, that the City's Zoni~ Code and Zoning Map be and is hereby amended
