<br />full width of the existing walk and the full length of the section or sections out, a section <br /> <br />being as marked by expansion joints or scoring. The resorting of the pavement, side- <br /> <br />walks, curbs, gutters, and other portions of streets shall be done in accordance with <br /> <br />-"--- <br /> <br />,pecifications of the city, and shall be subject to inspection by the city. The city council <br /> <br />may require the grantee to notify, in any or all cas es, the director of public works, or <br /> <br />his agent, in writing immediately after the aforesaid work has been completed. The <br /> <br />grantee shall maintain, repair and keep in good condition for a period of one year <br /> <br />following such disturbance all portions of streets and alleys disturbed by it Or its agents. <br /> <br />,.-_ The grantee shall promptly remove or correct any obstruction or defect in any street, <br /> <br />alley, or other public place which may be caused by the grantee Or its agents in the <br /> <br />operation or maintenance of the grantee's properties. Any such obstruction or defect <br /> <br />which, after proper notice to the grantee directing removal or repair as the case may <br /> <br />be, is not promptly removed, repaired, or corrected by the grantee, shall be taken <br /> <br />care of by the city, and the costs thereof shall be charged against the grantee and may <br /> <br />be enforced as a lien upon any of its properties or as sets. Expense of damage, re- <br /> <br />location or replacement to city utility lines, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and <br /> <br />storm drains, where such expense results from construction or maintenance of the <br /> <br />grantee's lines or facilities, shall be borne by the grantee and any expense incurred <br /> <br />in connection thereto by the city shall be reimbursed by the grantee. <br /> <br />(3) The grantee shall not open or disturb or encumber, at <br /> <br />anyone time, any more of such public streets than may, in the opinion of the director <br /> <br />of public works, be reasonably necessary to enable it to proceed with advantage in <br /> <br />laying or repairing its gas mains and pipes. Neither shall the grantee permit any such <br /> <br />_ street, sidewalk, alley, highway or public place, so opened, disturbed or encumbered <br /> <br />- 8 - <br />
